The unity

Since 1971, the Department of Social Service - SER, from the undergraduate course in Social Service - day, has been training social workers who work in various areas and institutional fields, with a view to promoting the full exercise of citizenship by users / those of Social Service. In 2010, it expanded the offer of places in public education with the opening of the undergraduate course at night.

In 1990, it created the stricto sensu Postgraduate Program in Social Policy, having previously offered the lato sensu Postgraduate Course (Specialization) for five consecutive years. This period, marked by the tradition of teaching, research, knowledge production, and publication on social policy, created the basis for the Doctorate in 2002 and, with it, the opening of vacancies for post-doctoral internships for national and foreign applicants.

Training with quality and social commitment is an important aspect and is ensured by the courses (Graduate and Post-Graduate) offered by the Department of Social Service at UnB, marked by a faculty from different areas of knowledge, who are qualified in the area of social service and social policy.
