Sustainable practices are behaviors that take into account the preservation of the environment, as well as the
minimization of environmental degradation caused by organizations. In this way, it was perceived that the
institutions need to be more aware of the conscious use of this environmental resource, as well as the
professionals inserted in them, with this, it is problematized how the secretarial professional can be involved
in this process. In this regard, this research analyzes the potential for introducing and developing elements of
environmental sciences and sustainability in the training of secretarial professionals, and systematizing them
in the form of a manual of environmental sciences and sustainability applied to the techniques of secretarial
professionals. Therefore, the methodological procedures were based on bibliographical and exploratory
research, under the qualitative-quantitative approach and used as a theoretical assumption of the method of
complexity, interdisciplinarity and pragmatic environmental education. Data were collected through a
structured questionnaire on Google Forms, and analyzed using Laurence Bardin's content analysis method.
The subjects of the research are students of technical and superior secretarial courses, secretarial professionals
and the executives assisted by these professionals. As a main result, the relationship of the Rs (rethink, reduce,
reuse) of sustainability applied to secretarial techniques was shown, namely: agenda management, meeting
management, travel management; customer service management, writing administrative and official texts, file
management, and planning and organizing events, contributing to more sustainable attitudes in the corporate
environment. The present work resulted in the creation of a manual on environmental sciences and
sustainability applied to the techniques of secretarial professionals. It is concluded that the proposal for the
development of the educational product – manual, presents itself as a potential pedagogical tool for learning
in the training of professional secretaries as environmentally responsible subjects.
