SUMMARY:

Introduction: Children and their games cannot be considered naturalistic, as they develop in cultural and historical contexts and cannot be just instinctive (Martinez,2020). According to Mascioli apud Freitas (2015), the development of the child as a whole must be respected, valuing sensory and creative capabilities, stimulating expression and languages. To this end, it is justified to reflect actions linked to the process of human development, especially in the child's first phase in a formal education environment, promoting a legacy inherent to the bodily, social and historical culture of human beings and their school trajectory. In this sense, the following question is presented: In what way (which, when, where, how and why) are playing and playful bodily practices made possible or not made possible in the 1st period of Early Childhood Education in a public school in the Federal District?  General Objective: Understand the possible ways of guaranteeing or denying playing and playful bodily practices in Early Childhood Education. Materials and Methods: Field research will be carried out with a qualitative approach, at an exploratory level, contextualized and based on bibliography, also using documentary analysis. Theoretical Framework: The Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education shows in its article 29 that Early Childhood Education is the first stage of basic education, with the aim of the integral development of children up to 5 (five) years of age, in their physical, psychological, intellectual and social, complementing the action of the family and community (Brasil, 1996). This teaching stage involves the issue of caring and educating, and family experiences must be combined with pedagogical proposals. In the field of experiences, the National Common Curricular Base for Early Childhood Education proposes activities that involve the body, gestures and movements, encouraging that in ECE the child's focus is on their own body. Therefore, the body becomes the center of pedagogical practices and not an object of submission. Playing is a guaranteed right in the context of BNCC, presented as an important learning mechanism and must be daily, in different spaces and times, in different ways, with different partners, such as children and adults, it must promote the diversification of cultural issues, knowledge, imagination, creativity, must promote the diversification of bodily, emotional practices, diverse expressions of language, sensory, cognitive, social and relational (Brasil, 2017). More recently, “Playing” gains prominence in the non-violent education of children. In accordance with Law No. 14,826, of March 20, 2024, positive parenting and the right to “Play” are established as a mechanism for preventing non-violence against children, thus amending Law No. 14,344, of May 24, 2022 (Brazil, 2024). “Playing” can place the child in the field of emotions, dealing with feelings of joy, pain, success, desires, in this context of emotions it contributes to structuring the personality and coping with anxieties and frustrations. Furthermore, play facilitates learning and activates creativity. It is suggested that teachers should use this mechanism to promote playful body practice and include games. Play contributes to understanding the child's needs through the observation of these activities by teachers (Rolim; Freitas and Tassign, 2008).
