SUMMARY:

The number of refugees worldwide has reached the point of drawing the attention of governments to the main challenges that host countries face, specifically finding opportunities in the labor market. Despite these challenges, entrepreneurship has emerged as a viable option for refugees to achieve economic self-sufficiency and contribute to the local economy. The bibliometric analysis of the literature shows that the field has started to grow rapidly and that there is a gap in literature on entrepreneurial intention. Therefore, this study aims to examine the determinants of entrepreneurial intent among Syrian refugees in Brazil and Canada, the determinants and factors that influence entrepreneurial intentions from the perspective of planned behavior theory (TPB), and the effect of the three determinants (attitude toward behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control) on entrepreneurial intention. A qualitative research approach will be used and contains, semi-structured interviews with Syrian refugee entrepreneurs in Brazil and Canada. Finally, the work schedule was presented with the main tasks to be performed during the research process.
