SUMMARY:

Telemedicine has been a viable technological option for users of health systems around the world, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding the acceptance and use of telemedicine can also increase access to this technology in a post-pandemic scenario. With this in mind, telemedicine will be analyzed as a technological strategy of health care, using theories such as the classification of barriers and drivers for acceptance of telemedicine (Chauhan et al., 2022), and the model of acceptance of technologies of Venkatesh, Thong and Xu (2012) adapted to telemedicine to help understand the phenomenon. General objective: To analyze the acceptance and use of telemedicine by patients of the Brazilian public and private health care system. Specific objectives: 1- To collect sociodemographic data of telemedicine users; 2- Identify whether the use of telemedicine by patients is done voluntarily or compulsorily; 3- Verify evidence of internal validity of the research instrument that adapts the scale proposed by the UTAUT2 model; 4- To verify the influence of the variables Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Price Value, Habit and Perceived Risk, mediated by Gender, Age and Experience on the intention of use and behavior of use of telemedicine. Methods: The research has a quantitative approach, adapting the model of acceptance and use of technologies, UTAUT2 (Venkatesh, Thong, and Xu, 2013), for application in telemedicine. The data will be collected through questionnaires and analyzed through structural equation modeling. Expected Contribution: The study aims to contribute to the advancement of academic works and literature on telemedicine by having as a thesis proposal the study of the Risk Perceived by patients within a methodological model of acceptance and use of technologies, measuring the influence that this variable exerts on the intention of use and the behavior of use of telemedicine. Confidentiality and data privacy are concerns raised in the literature as key factors for the future of telemedicine, so verifying the risk perceived by patients when using this tool can help in understanding the phenomenon and in the development of the theoretical model for the acceptance and use of this technology. As a social and practical contribution, it is expected that the study will help in understanding the factors that influence the Behavior of Use and the Intention to Use of telemedicine, raising inhibitors of the basic conditions for the implementation of telemedicine, especially in a Brazilian scenario, where many people are still digitally excluded. The intention is that more and more people can benefit from telemedicine, contributing to more and more adopters and so that patients who already have this technology, whether compulsory or voluntary, have greater ease in this relationship, removing barriers to the use of telemedicine and benefiting patients, health professionals and developers of technological solutions
