SUMMARY:

Well-being at work has aroused interest in academia and organizations for decades Studies show the relationship of this phenomenon with healthy workplaces, positive relationships between workers, commitment and performance. Recent changes in the labor market and in management arrangements and practices enhance the need to better understand workers' perceptions. The meaning of work is changing, especially among younger generations who seek to associate the purpose of work with well-being and their personal goals, thus making this phenomenon a current issue. Several studies have highlighted the importance of studying and exploring the individual and collective experiences represented by the professional categories, as each group is restricted to its own dynamics originating from specific scenarios and the very nature of work. This allows both analyzing and expanding the existing theoretical-methodological models and directing possible research applications and interventions. Well-being at work and Ilness at work among police officers are related to operational factors related to police activity and factors in the work context. Empirical research shows that the category has specificities, such as the dual relationship with society, which transits between esteem and prejudice; the difficulty of reinventing himself and leaving the organization, considering his unique background and the social imaginary of superheroes. The literature review indicates a series of gaps in the well-being of police officers, some linked to context variables and others linked to personal and professional variables, such as, for example, the career period in which police officers find themselves and could make them more or less vulnerable to their emotions; gender, since there are high rates of female police officers who retire due to psychopathologies when compared to male police officers; the types of positions in the police career, due to the hierarchical structure and the rigid disciplinary system, characteristic of police organizations. This research project aims to analyze the perception of well-being and uneasiness in the work of police officers in the context of the work of the Federal Police, to identify the main sources of well-being and uneasiness in the context of work of police officers federal, describe levels of well-being at work, describe levels of malaise at work, verify whether there are differences in levels of well-being at work in terms of career stage, position held and gender differences, and compare the sources of well-being at work and discomfort at work according to socio-professional categories. The study is supported by the theoretical-methodological model of Ergonomics of the Activity Applied to Quality of Life at Work, which breaks with the assistance and hegemonic vision adopted in policies and programs of quality of life at work, based mainly on the ergonomics of the activity and dialogues with findings from Organizational Psychology and People Management, in addition to being applied and tested over two decades in the Brazilian public sector. The applied model has as a starting point to understand the quality of life at work the constructs of well-being at work and malaise at work. The study is characterized as a quali-quanti, cross-sectional approach, whose methodology is the survey. The sample will be made up of active federal police officers working throughout the national territory and represent the five Federal Police career positions. Questionnaires with sociodemographic questions will be applied and the Quality of Life at Work Assessment Inventory-IAQVT, more specifically the psychometric scale of feelings at work, formed by the dimensions of positive and negative affects and the open questions of well-being at work and malaise at work. For quantitative data, descriptive analysis and inferential ANOVA will be performed to test possible differences in relation to socio-professional variables using the Statistics Package for the Social Sciences -SPSS software . As for the qualitative part, classic textual statistics will be carried out, research of specificities of groups, descending hierarchical classification, analysis of similitude and word clouds on the textual corpus, through the application Interface de R pour les Analyzes Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires - IRAMUTEQ. It is hoped that the present study will explore and analyze the understanding of the approached constructs, well-being at work and malaise at work, and raise new points of reflection regarding the theoretical-methodological model. In practical and applied terms, the results found will be able to offer inputs to managers, through a concise diagnosis, for the discussion of suitable ways and practices for the promotion of quality of life at work in the studied organization.
