SUMMARY:

With the possibility generated by information and communication technologies and the recent health crises, telecommuting has become a common work arrangement and with that organizations and researchers seek answers regarding its impacts on the results and well-being of teleworkers. Particularly in the public sector, telecommuting raises several questions, as these organizations tend to have a high degree of standardization and formalization, which could contrast with a greater degree of autonomy required by flexible work organization arrangements. The scientific literature has a good systematization regarding the potentially positive and negative aspects of teleworking and its main impacts on workers and organizations. On the other hand, this arrangement implies changes that permeate the organizational structure, work design, management practices and the personal variables of teleworkers themselves, creating many challenges for managers and making it difficult to prepare a recipe or guide for all types of work. Of teams and organizations. For that matter, there are still many gaps which need to be investigated. Well-being at work is an especially sensitive and worrying variable because it is associated with the general physical and mental health of the worker, the effectiveness and sustainability of organizations. Several studies, for example, have questioned the proportion of hours per week in telework, the autonomy role, the telepressure experienced by the teleworker and the possible interactions between variables like these. Based on the scenario described, this research project proposes to analyze the relationships between autonomy at work, telepressure and the extent of telework with the well-being of teleworkers. Considering the perception of Brazilian public servants working remotely, the specific objectives are to test the relationship between autonomy at work and well-being at work, test the relationship between telepressure and well-being at work, testing the relationship between extension of telecommuting with well-being at work and, finally, testing possible interactions between autonomy at work, telepressure and the extent of telework in predicting well-being at work. In order to reach the objectives, it is intended to conduct a field research, characterized as a survey, of a descriptive and explanatory nature, with a quantitative approach and cross-sectional approach. The survey will have already validated scales on the well-being at work, telepressure and autonomy constructs, and socio-professional items referring to information such as gender, age, position, time working in the agency, number of hours of work per week and average number of hours in telecommuting per week. Data will be collected through the Google Forms platform. The results can contribute to the understanding of the relationships between the addressed variables and raise reflections on the explanatory models of well-being at work in telework arrangements. In the organizational and practical scope, the results of this study may provide input for managerial debates on best practices for managing telecommuters and remote groups.
